Time travel

A journey beyond the veil of time

By Glory AlabaPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

I wish I could travel back in time

To the days when the sky was a canvas of blue

When the moon was my faithful companion Who followed me wherever I flew

When the rain was a shower of blessings

That washed away all my fears

When my mind was a garden of wonders

That bloomed with every smile and tear

**********************************

Now I’m trapped in a cage of reality

Where I have to hide my skin and soul

Where I have to weigh every choice and consequence

And pay a heavy toll Where the sky is a blanket of gray

That suffocates my dreams Where the moon is a distant stranger

That ignores my silent screams

Where the rain is a flood of sorrow

That drowns my hopes and joys Where my mind is a barren desert

That withers with every noise

******************************

But what if I could travel back in time

And relive my childhood days

Would I change anything or everything

Or leave it all the same

Would I find happiness or sadness

Or something in between

Would I lose myself or find myself

Or be somewhere I’ve never been

*****************************

Maybe I’ll never know the answer

Maybe I’ll never get the chance

Maybe I’ll never travel back in time

But I can always travel in my mind
