May 1933

We watch the fire

Papa's hand on my shoulder

As it eats my books

Witch trials

They have cut my hair

Believing I can braid spells

To steal my freedom

Time Capsule

He digs quietly

The tin pressed against my chest

Learning my heartbeat

Thief of Minutes

You take so easy

And yet, as I get older

You take all the more

Passing On

I thought you should know

Although time takes me further

I will wait for you

The Watch Lover

I held both his hands

Firm, though he spun them 'round me

In a passing hug

Deadline

The deadline is soon

I see the theme's irony

And write more haikus

surreal poetry
