“I guess you meant what you said.” He sputtered as he spoke.

“You mean, that I wished you were dead?” As she took a drag off her smoke.

“No, the til death do us part. At least you were faithful.”

She pulled the knife from his back and laid it on the table. “Aww, that was sweet, but it’s too little too late.”

He smiled up at her and said, as he started to fade, “I don’t know why I kept what I felt tucked away from you, in my head.”

She began to feel bad for her momentary lack of judgment, “I’m sorry my love, but it’s too late to undo it.”

“I’m sorry too,” he said in a whisper. “I contacted the police, they’ll be here any minute.”

“Well, I suppose I should have suspected, it’s all quite improper. You think I’d know better, being a detective’s daughter.”

He held out his hand and before he could speak, a shot rang out in the dark, deeply grazing her cheek.

She cradled him close as the second shot reached her heart, and they whispered together, “till death do us part.”

I have words, but they just won't come out right now. I loved this. I was troubled and disturbed, yet I chuckled. (I don't know why) Congratulations

Congrats on TS. This is brilliant and yet so sad. For me, it was difficult to read. My cousin was murdered by her husband who took his own life seconds after taking hers. It still shakes me.
