Through my daughters eyes

To my sweet girl

By Brandi DeMaris WelchPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Through my daughters eyes

The glow she has when she tells a story

Or talks about something she loves

her smile when she looks at a baby

when she’s in the back seat with her eyes closed, the wind just blowing in her face and her hair blowing with no care in the world

through my daughters eyes

I want to teach you all the things I wish I knew then that I know now

Life is hard my sweet girl

But if you take it and conquer it, the world is yours

The sky is not the limit. You are your own limit with your own limitations

Know that you will get your heart broken, but know you’ll break some hearts too

Through my daughters eyes

Mistakes and bad choices are what makes you grow

The first time is a mistake.

The second time is a choice.

And you will keep making those mistakes until you learn from them

I’ll be right here to catch you before you fall

I will always be your biggest fan

Through my daughters eyes

Your present reflects your future

Don’t ever preach what you don’t know

And be your own judge of people

This world is cruel and doesn’t stop for anyone

So be humble and kind

You never know what someone is going through

Through my daughters eyes

I hope you know when your off to college and you’re lost or confused your compass leads you back to me. Home.

I hope when you fall in love you fall in love with their soul

Looks fade, but who they are as a person never will

I hope when you have your career you love every bit of it

I hope when you have your own babies, you take with you everything I’ve taught you along the way

And I hope you tell your children who taught you it

Take lots of pictures

Take in every moment, and know you saved my life

Through my daughters eyes
