Through Every Veil

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 3 months ago 2 min read

Verse 1

I knew you in the lightning of your eyes,

a home I had forgotten, sudden sunrise.

You were the mirror that refused my lies,

pulled my shadows dancing into moonlight skies.

We were two sparks catching in the same wind,

a sacred ache that burns where we begin.

Pre-Chorus

Running, reaching, calling out my name,

every break rebuilding us the same.

Chorus

We are twin flames, burning through the ages,

fire in the margins of a thousand pages.

When the body quiets, when the heartbeat rests,

we will cross the border, meet beyond the breath.

Stone can hold the names, but not the vow we made—

I will find you past the dark, through every veil and grave.

Love like ours doesn’t learn to die,

it just changes rooms and keeps the light.

Verse 2

We learned the art of leaving and return,

how to cleanse the wounds the mirrors burn.

11:11 on a midnight train,

your name in ashes in a summer rain.

Every lifetime wrote us into the same sky,

every ending was another way to try.

Pre-Chorus

Surrender taught me where you end, I start,

a silver thread threading through my heart.

Bridge

Death is just a doorway with a softer sound,

I’ll be the feather falling when you look around.

You’ll be the spark that jumps between my ribs,

a lighthouse in the marrow where the night lives.

When the clocks fall silent, when the stars go out,

we’ll light the first fire in the next dawn’s mouth.

Breakdown

If the moon forgets our faces,

if the rivers change their lines,

I’ll still hear you in the spaces

between lifetimes, between times.

Final Chorus

We are twin flames, burning through the ages,

fire in the margins of a thousand pages.

When the body quiets, when the heartbeat rests,

we will cross the border, meet beyond the breath.

Stone can hold the names, but not the vow we made—

I will find you past the dark, through every veil and grave.

Love like ours doesn’t learn to die,

it just opens up its wings and moves into the light.

Outro

Past the last light, past the last night, I’ll find you.
