In all my life, I have never fallen out of love.
I have misunderstood the feeling,
misidentified my attachments
loved a version of a person no longer here,
held candlelight vigils for the way they died but kept living as someone changed.
Yet I have loved you through all of it
every shift, every struggle, every bit of growth, every backslid inch,
I have fallen in love anew with each version of you, each version of myself
swooning and shifting, adapting to what I might once have grieved with someone else.
Unyielding, forgiving, without resentment, I have loved you and never fallen out of it.

Very good poem. Love the way you describe love.
Heartfelt piece
"held candlelight vigils for the way they died but kept living as someone changed." amazingly said!
Felt it, liked it.
