boats sailing merrily for your pleasure,
geology alive beneath your feet,
faces blazing in the golden sky.
Do they delight you or
haunt you—
melting down into the sails and salt of the sea, some filled
with the same stardust surrounding you,
and don’t those staves look like
three crosses?
