The flames dance around you,
working up the nerve
to sidle closer, smolder up to you
in your sparkle-woven gown,
constellations tattooed on your body,
shining through everything,
as if you're all that matters.
What happens if the scale slips
through your fingers, spills the coins
into the greedy, waiting world?
