Verses written
Line by line
Following rhythm, tempo, and time
Melodies ringing
Singing prose
Catching light on the petal of a rose
Bright red pooling
Outlining the physical
Black shadows casting
Sadness made lyrical
Grass is greener
When unkept and wild
Freedom is freer in the mind of a child
Ideas bounce
Lighter than rubber
But come to a stop
When it comes to each other
Having great expectations
When we water the seed
Then complain about the view
Because of our tree
So we cut it down and press it into paper
For books we write but don’t read until later
