Thoughts in a Laundromat
A free verse poem

Another urgent trip to the laundromat
Our dryer is still broken
Three weeks now
They need to order a new part
I remember when
We didn’t have our own
At our apartment in PG County
Years ago, before the kid
That laundromat had a different vibe
Or maybe it was us vibing differently
I’m washing Jimmy’s jeans
His costume shirts
And Homer Simpson PJ pants
Always the same telenovela on the TV
Tu vida es mi vida
(Your life is my life)

My washing machine retired a few days ago so we had to get a new one. Hope your dryer gets fixed soon. Loved your poem!
Sending positive vibes & virtual hugs!!! This reminded me when our dryer was down for a month.
