Thought, what if today was the day you won the lottery, what would you do?
We're talking millions of dollars, would you freak out or stay shock because it was just another ticket so you thought you would lose.
Would you take it little by little, every year, try to get the full amount?
Or all at once, taxes take a couple million but now you have millions inside your account.
Do you blow your money on fancy clothes, a mansion, expensive cars and all these material things?
Or do you invest, give back to your loved ones and less fortunate, and travel the world to see everything the world has to bring.
Do you switch up, act different all because you have money now?
Or do you stay humble, remember you're fortunate so you stay grounded down.
Go from struggling to rich in a matter of seconds all because of one ticket.
Now your whole life changed, got money, a bigger spending limit.
Thought, what if today was the day you lost it all? Your car, your job, your place of living, everything you ever worked for, and now you're out on the street.
Nowhere to go, begging for change just so you can get something to eat.
Nights are cold, so you find a trashcan to start a fire just to stay warm.
On rainy days you find a bridge to go under so you can avoid the storm.
People avoid you, think you're on drugs because you're dirty and you don't look the way they do.
Little do they know you've looked for a job but have no reliable source to get there and no clothes but the ones you wear so no one will hire you.
Days without eating, so you search through the trash for thrown away leftovers that you yourself once threw away.
Nowhere to sleep so you find a empty box next to a dumpster in an empty alleyway.
Going from money in your pocket to no money at all because a series of unfortunate events.
Now you live this life of struggle and despair, constantly asking yourself what you could've done different to make this a situation you could've prevent.
Thought, they say money is the root of all evil, but in this economy we have no choice but to give in.
Either work for what you need or be left on the outside looking in.
Don't get me wrong because money can bring out the worst in people, and we never seem satisfied with how much money we make.
It's like a drug, once you have a little you want more no matter what it takes.
Living in a world where it's all about the newest phones, nicest clothes, becoming rich, we've become so materialistic.
Looking down at the less fortunate, forgetting that could be us in a matter of an instant.
We work to pay our bills, week by week, just another deadline.
Some weeks you don't have enough, praying you can get just a little more time.
Thought, if money is the root of all evil I guess we're living in our own personal hell.
Whether you're rich or poor, money is something that'll make you dwell.
