A poem of winter

Snowy layers sparkle,

Fingers burn as cold winds bite,

Thorns upon a rose of white.

Moonlight glistens,

Heart is warmed

I pull my coat a bit more tight.

Silent stillness,

All is quiet,

Where can I find warmth tonight?

Thorns upon a rose of white.

Creatures wander,

Fair to see,

Food is scarce,

Hunger fights,

Thorns upon a rose of white.

Floating crystals,

Fall so gentle,

Land on noses red from chill,

Signs of spring, nowhere in sight.

Thorns upon a rose of white.

Laughters echo,

Bobsleds fly,

Small toes tingle,

Babies cry,

Come my child,

Hold me tight,

Thorns upon a rose of white.
