This Night

A Poem by Jai Buck

By Juanita BuckPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

This night,

this kind night: approach at will

the fires and the wood.

Embrace the beat and flow

and dance, dance low with those who would.

Still the beat and breath-

imbue spirit and accept death.

This night,

this kind night: grace the hearts of blood and

bone new grown

Engage these beasts, flash this dance

for energy alone at this glance does growl and

does groan.

Give the rhythm show the flow

to each being may life glow.

This night,

this kind night: howl of passion and shiver kiss

of breath

Embue every rhythm of body writhing

frantic struggle to engage and disengage to

restrain death

to give and survive the giving

to live and survive the living.
