Fuck You Caroline

A coal mine for Caroline was more than I could
give the moon's light that she
at every intersection
coloured blue and savoured
for its tangy flavour.
Robert still wonders what it is
that she wanted, since the day
It started raining
and the night we cried like babies
for the knowing of what it was
and what was bothering her. ? .
She wouldn't say, of course
And we stayed up for around
72 hours and questioned
if it was something
we or the moon could find an answer to.
Giving up little by little
I now pick up a glass
and drink, to nothing
but the sun burning the edges of clouds to crisps.
