This Life Thing
A short story on Identity

I used to think I was Bright Red, but I am really a soft Pink.
Quiet and pulsating
I don’t have to speak.
My voice feels like cool water.
My words a sweet breeze.
When I speak intentionally,
I bring hearts to their knees.
As I cultivate my Pink, I am drawn to Green.
The colour of nature is an ally in the unseen.
Helping me to ground as I tap into my power,
Helping me to feel, the power within.
Grounding in the real me into this body.
Emanating softness, radiating beauty.
I am beautiful.
Beautifully me.
I have waited eternally for the opportunity to just be.
No performance for others, just performing for me.
As I embody my true essence, revealing the real me.
Now I restore into the my real self,
No longer marred by conditioning.
I am in control of my reasoning.
Cleaning out my subconscious
So I may be more conscious of my actions.
I aspire to make intentional actions
And to show up as an authentic me.
What makes me unique is my essence
The colour of my soul.
That is generated without thinking.
Because there is no thinking in being yourself.
There is just being,
And I will remember that
As I give myself a pat on the back
For being a bit better at this life thing.

Hola! I'm a writer amongst other things. I enjoy writing about psychology and the development of Self. Identity is also a big thing in my work as we are always changing based on what chooses to express itself within our subconscious.
