As I walked along a lonely beach,

Suddenly I heard a cry.

“Save me, is anyone there?”

As I watched, a shark was trapped in the net

I quickly moved the net.

The shark was a bit happy.

Because I saved its life.

The shark said to me, “you saved my life, so I will give you a present.”

The shark went out to sea for a moment and came back into a box.

I asked, “what is this?”

The shark then said, “it’s full of pearls and gold.”

I am the king of the sea.

Humans like you threw the net

I managed to escape ashore

I never thought you’d save me.

I understand that there are good people.

Because you saved me I give you this gift.

This gift is because of your willingness to help.

As I was leaving with the box the shark sent me off with a smile.

That smile had the brilliance of life.

Authors note- This piece is a fun reminder that not everyone you meet is bad or will be bad. We have to all keep in mind that everyone can be or is good and we just have to ignite it in some who have lost that ability to keep their faith in humanity. I love you all and you are all great. Thank you for reading!
