This is Me… Calm as the water flowing Into a pond, lake, ocean or sea My soul stretches out so deep That it purifies This earthly world Into a stream of soft felt breeze That whispers Into your ear to keep on living Living with songs That can change your prospective On how you might views things Or how you might view him or her or me We are all humans Defining ourselves as one One as if we are all the same Same in a way that we are all different Different brings character Without character Than how can I be me I am me Thinking about how The glow can be A life changer As long as you set yourself Some-where that happiness is where you find Happiness don’t find you You find happiness For what is truly define within yourself Rather its a cold rainy day One finds blue skies Rather its a warm winter One finds red for comfort Rather its a chill leafy day One finds yellow for encouragement I am a human That finds happiness Within my past journey And my future meanings To bring brighter days To existence This world needs love I am love I am weak- but I am strong I am down- but I am also up I am quiet-but I am lifted I am wrong-but I am right I am a child- but I am an adult I am a female- but I am a woman I am confined- but I am free I am a learner- but I am also a teacher and a healer I am me Always have Always will be me This is me And no matter how different you are Different is good What I am trying to tell you is… Embrace who you are No matter your spectrum of colors Rather you are Sometimes Red, orange, white, yellow, green, blue, black ,pink, brown or feeling purple Thru moods, weather, time,….or Yes, exactly what you said! Be grateful and so much more for life But, can I tell you something? No matter Who or what type of human You are You look so much better when you smile That is you And this is me Cassandra Adams

The Salt in her Voice
The myth says mermaids sing to lure sailors to their death. But why? The ocean is huge. Only 5 percent has been discovered by man. Why would a creature of the sea with that much space to roam ever care about the fate of men on ships? The answer, as it turns out, is not a simple one at all. The truth about the myth is older than the tides. Long ago before the first ship ever cut across the surface, the sea made a pact with the sky. The sky would take the souls of the drowned. Anyone who died in storms or any quiet accidents of the deep would have their soul lifted upward to the Heavens while the bodies would remain below, feeding the oceans endless hunger. The greedy sea however wanted more souls than the sky would claim. So it created mermaids. It gave them beautiful voices woven from currents and moonlight. It commanded them to sing. "Bring forth the ones who float where they should sink." it instructed them. So they did. They never killed out of malice but out of obligation. They sung to summon, not to seduce. A mermaid's voice could loosen the tether between the body and soul, making any man step willingly into the water. The sea would take the body and the sky would take the soul. Balance maintained.
