This is how I stand.
With my back straight,
And justice held in my hand.
I dare not move past my limit.
I dare not say that my duty
Is absent without my spirit.
I breathe in hope
I pray that it is enough for those that need it.
But I dare not say that I'll only give them a minute.
For a minute is not enough,
And my mind is far too gone,
And I must focus my strength into finding answers
Into making it better, when you bleed on the pavement.
My time is needed. My duty holds me to my post.
I fire arrows, when need be.
My feet bury themselves in the soil.
But deep inside, I must forget the turmoil.
I am a soldier, I fight for those that need me.
Not the what, but the them.
They must be the lucky ones.
I only stand,
and pray that I can save them all.
