This Could Be Us

You and I

A boy met a girl.

They were strangers on the train. Then I saw them again on my way home. They are exchanging kisses. Honey, this could be us.

A boy met a girl.

They were at the bar. Stealing smiles with longing eyes. Then I saw them hold each other tight on the dance floor. Oh honey, this could be us.

Where have you been? We could be mates. We could be lovers. We could be everything.

I wish I knew you when we're younger. We could've been so high. Ups and downs we go. And I could've called you mine.

But now here we are. Sitting at the bench, talking about what ifs that could have been us in the past. Until the end of the day.

Then we go our separate ways, going back to the arms of another.

The imagery of fleeting connections and heartfelt reflections is both touching and relatable. It's a powerful reminder of the 'what ifs' that linger in our minds and hearts.
