Things I Think

Pressures In The Mind Of A People Pleaser

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

keep it simple

keep it light

don't cause ripples

don't start fights

life can suck

so, suck it up

bite your tongue

enoughs, enough

self destruction

bite your lip

climb the rungs

don’t give a rip

to get ahead

don't let them in

inside your head

that’s where they win

no, life's not fair

it's one big game

complete warfare

against your brain

a friendly face

deceiving smile

I’m out of place

and feel hostile

the rules don't count

flip on a dime

pressures surmount

blowing my mind

hide in my room

suffering bed rot

death can’t come too soon

just smile and shut up

This piece really hits home. We've all felt like life's a battle, right? The advice to keep it simple and not let others get in our heads is spot-on. I've been there, trying to climb the ladder while dealing with unfairness. How do you think one can truly keep that positive mindset when everything seems against them? Also, the part about hiding and feeling like death can't come soon enough is relatable. It shows how tough things can get. Have you ever found a way to break out of that cycle of negativity?
