They Stole My Dignity and My Name

I thought I'd share in Honor of International Holocaust Rememberance Day...

They stole it

From me

The name

My Mother used

To whisper

In my ear

When the nights

Exploded.

~~~
They stole it
From me
The family
I Clung to
My hope
My future
My dream.
~~~

They stole

It from me

The childhood

That was supposed

To be full and

Innocent.

~~~
They stole it
From me
The home
I once knew
Warm and secure
And for what hate?
~~~

They stole it

From me

The pieces of my

Dignity.

~~~
They tried to
Steal my Faith too
Break me down
Until
I stopped
Believing
But G-D is
Stronger than
Their hate.
~~~

They stole

My dignity

And my Name

But they could

Not steal

That childlike Faith

Even in the

Midst of a

Nazi hell.
