THEY KEPT IT QUIET

A SECRET KEPT SO TIGHT

By Daphne SutherlunPublished about a year ago 1 min read

They kept it quiet, held it tight a secret wrapped from the light. they thought silence would shield me from the truth. but in the end the truth always sheds light.

I found out too late, just a months time, to say the words to hold whats mine. cancer crept in stealing her laughter, her strength her fight.

I tried to gather the memories the should haves, the would but time was thin with each day slipping only going by fast left with just a memory one day at a time

Now November comes bitter and cold I stand alone with just her hand to hold. All the questions . left un spoken

She left before i could understand I talk to her now with wispers and prayers hoping somehow she is still around today her memory I guard close A piece of her when I need it most
