There are several ladders to climb

is it the ladder less chosen, less used...

By Tracy ToccaraPublished 5 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

Peering through the window of self-reflection's pane,

I ponder ladders to climb, to grow, to gain.

Which path will lead to heights of self-gratification?

The one less trodden, or a fall from elevation?

A ladder fallen, on the ground it lies,

Eagerly lifted, climbed with open eyes.

Each step a glimpse into life's emotional tide,

The higher I ascend, with each stride I provide.

Looking down once more, from this reflective view,

A pile of hurt and pain, a past I once knew.

Yet atop the world, I stand with newfound might,

Feeling the sun's warmth, in its golden light.

The sky's blue expanse, clouds in gentle roam,

I see the world anew, from this lofty dome.
