Then, Let It Go

Let it fester for a minute

Let it simmer and bleed

Let it fill with emotion

Let it drain you of your need

Let it cry

Let it wimper

Let it scream, primally

Let it live in your headspace

Let it live there, rent free

Let it take all your time

Let it fill all your senses

Let it roll in the grime

Let it knock down your defences

Let it furrow its brow

Let it make all the faces

Let it loose in a crowd

Let it invade all your spaces

And then, when you have let it

exhaust itself of its power

Let that free you of guilt

Leaving you feeling empowered

Because EVERY emotion

Needs to feel seen and loved

Learning to love your broken

Should fit your hand like a glove

It's all a part of our make-up

Our fragile DNA

Deserving every ounce of our love

Till every cell is engaged

And when that need is acknowledged

We can then, pack it away

Because beauty is found in the unpolished

Making us more than okay
