then...

and now

By BrenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

.

if this crazy planet we ride

has taught me one thing

it’s this

we are all doing our best

given our circumstances

playing the hands

that we were dealt

be it by hugs

or by the belt

this life

that

we were thrust into

...live it

grab every single fucking microsecond

it's all we’ll ever get

and it’s our choice

we either go

forwards

or

backwards

everything else

is a vacuum

abhorred by nature

it’s a microchoice

heartbeat

heartbeat

heartbeat

heartbeat

feel the pulse

in your throat

it is at this point

we have ALL the power

of the infinite universe

behind us

to alter our balance

our direction

our mood and our mind

acceptance

and

forgiveness

will never leave us blind

will never lead to a bind

they will show that what we find

an affirmation of the kind

that we want

that we need

good things

will always come

to those

who wait

I will add that "good things/will always come/to those/who wait" and work for nothing will ever come to those who do nothing. I like the "heartbeat" bit, this promise of the only life we have. It's sad, but also purifying. All-in-one!
