Theatrics of the Hopeless Romantic

A Sonnet

By Emma LaurensPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

When Sun has set and Moon does rise above

The clouds of mist that swirl in midnight blue

And stars do shine with light of distant love

Then thoughts of mine do shift and turn to you;

To eyes so kind and voice so sweet to hear

That sight and sound of you take words from me;

To moments spent with you and all so dear

That each is now a cherished memory.

Though harvests pass and leaves are doomed to fall

And always winter comes with icy breath,

The springs and summers of our love stand tall

And stand they shall, I swear, past even death.

These words I wish to win and hear one day

From lover true whose love shall never stray.
