The Wounded Earth: A Tragic Ballad of Man and Nature

When Progress and Greed Bring Nature to Its Knees

By Khudair Ahmed ShaikhPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

In days of old, the world was young and free,

A place of beauty, wonder, and majesty.

The forests teemed with life and song,

And rivers flowed with waters pure and strong.

But now, alas, the story's changed,

The world is scarred, and nature's pained.

Man's progress, like a scourge, has ravaged all,

From towering trees to creatures great and small.

The seas, once blue, now choked with waste,

The skies, once clear, now filled with haze.

The ice caps melt, the oceans rise,

As man's unchecked destruction multiplies.

Oh, how the Earth cries out in pain,

As man continues to destroy in vain.

And yet, we go on, heedless and blind,

To the truth that we're leaving our children behind.

But hope still shines, like a beacon bright,

If only we'll choose to do what's right.

To heal the wounds we've caused, and make amends,

To honor the Earth, and make her our friend.

For in the end, we're all one and the same,

Man and nature, forever entwined in the game.

So let us be wise, and choose a better path,

To save the Earth, and secure our own future at last.

And so, my friends, I leave you with this thought,

That though the Earth's wounds are deep, they can still be fought.

Let us be the heroes that the Earth needs,

And restore her to her glory, with our hearts and deeds.
