in any case, living like they circle each other,

my granddad, the planet, and grandmother, his moon relegated

by some gravitational force. they have adored adequately long

for a functioning man to resign. grandmother says she's not drained,

she wears her better half like a coat that endures each season,

discusses him the manner in which my folks discuss vinyl —

the subject rescued by the tent of their tongues.

grandmother gets back to her adoration like a song, marks it with a variety.

when the world closures will it suck the earth of all its affection?

will I go grasping someone's hand,

my skin turning into their skin?

the advanced age is removing our winters,

also, i'm apprehensive the sun is my perfect partner,

that waste sits tight for a wet kiss,

carbon calls me pretty, and I think

passing is a decent first date.

I trust when the world closures it leaves them be,

saves granddad and his game,

grandmother turning corn into weight,

both of them reeling into western

signature tunes, the television stronger

than anything that's coming.
