The World 'I' Own

From three, to the current me

By Varnika AgarwalPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

I'm 3, at my house,

Hiding within my mom's arms from the scary mouse.

In my Papa's lap,

Taking the relaxing nap.

With them, I spend my entire day and night,

From the moment the sun rises to the moment where there's no light.

We play games together from breakfast to dinner,

And magically I am always the one emerging as the winner.

I miss the innocence of mine while being a child,

When life used to happen itself and everyone seemed mild.

And now, I'm so scared to step outside

in the world made of lies, failures, confusion, and fights.

I rather prefer to stay inside-

inside my truths, inside my comfort zone

inside my world , the world 'I' own.

But then I asked myself-

What's the point of living if I stop,

what's the point of stopping if I've to live.

To keep the balance you must ride,

Show the strong side of you that you always hide.
