The Season of Almost

Is she mature or still maturing?

By Varnika AgarwalPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

Enjoying the wind on her face,

She walks down the streets,

Rejoicing with a song in her head,

And resonating with every single of it's beats.

In the midst of the stroll,

She would smile at everyone she could see.

But still wandering to get a smile back,

Although no one is as busy as a bee.

Always surrounded by people,

Yet feeling alone all the time.

Why can't she join any conversations,

Although it doesn't even cost a single dime.

Maybe it's not because she doesn't want to,

But that she can't.

It's not the will that she lacks,

But her melancholic soul that stops her in her tracks.

She's mature enough to not react to childish taunts,

But alas she's a mortal at the end as well.

Fighting against the world along with her own evils,

She seeks to find comfort in her cocoon's shell.

Closing her eyes

As she looks far into the night skies,

She wonders if she's mature,

Or still maturing as a cure.
