The Words I Never Said

poem

By Vincent OtiriPublished 7 months ago 1 min read

I wrote your name in the sky,

but the wind blew it away.

I wrote it again on the shore,

but the waves washed it away.

So I carved it deep in my heart—

where no wind, no tide could reach.

And now, even when you’re gone,

it’s the one thing time can’t steal.

But here’s the truth that hurts the most:

I had a thousand chances to speak,

yet I let silence win.

And now?

Now the words I never said

are the loudest thing within.
