The Wolves Are Howling
A poem for my "October Prompts" Challenge
The wolves are howling again,
As the dark, night crept in.
She hid inside the house with a crooked smile.
The lone moon began to creep up into the sky as the wolves began to grow wild.
The pack has grown smaller and smaller every year.
The young woman stayed inside the house because she knew better than to tempt the pack.
The scar on her cheek was proof of that.
The moon grew rounder as the night grew darker and darker.
The shrill howls sounded like they were right outside the house.
As if the wolves wanted her to come out and play.
Temptation at it's finest.
