The Wings of Icarus

A tale of control

This is the truth to know,

wings of wax would not melt.

That’s because the higher you go,

the colder air is felt.

The sun could not detach,

Feathers from wax bound wings.

The feathers would stay in tack.

Misinformation, it seems.

Icarus might give Daedalus a heart attack,

Because he would not do as told.

Is this a cautionary tale of fact,

or is one of blatant control.

There are always the ones,

with rules they deduce,

to stop all forms of fun.

In this case, it’s just an excuse.

If you fly to high,

the sun will not melt your wings.

It seems that this is a lie,

told to control human beings.
