The Whole of You

For the Sensational Challenge

I love the wetness in your eyes and the furrowing of your brow when you stare intently into mine

How your bubbling laughter causes me to laugh even if I don't get the joke

The tingle of your skin when I tenderly caress you

And savory pressure of your lips touching mine

But this above all else, I love your scent unperfumed in close embrace, the whole of you wrapped within the whole of me.

Well done! A beautiful love poem. My favourite line is: “How your bubbling laughter causes me to laugh even if I don't get the joke”. Laughter is good medicine.😂

This poem is demonstrative of what it looks like to truly see someone, I love your delineation of the wetness of her eyes, it brings us to think of the part of a person that makes them who they are, not what they can do for us. ‘The whole of you wrapped within the whole of me’ such a tender and loving statement of complete acceptance of her.

Hi Jc - Whew 'without perfume' ~ Now that's groovy-love..! Coincidence: I know you know I'm not into contests, but tomorrow I'm asking to have published a piece "Eyes" with a very different slant. I'm also a Proud-Veteran - who was separated from my 'Love' for a year while I was deployed: I clipped a short timers calendar on my wall: John, you of course, remember those. Jb-bud.in.l.a.

I agree with JBaz. That last line. Something about the ol’ olfactory that imbues the whole brain in humanness. Like the love expressed in this astounding piece. Hat’s off!
