The Weight We Do Not See
A heartfelt poem about invisible burdens, gentle healing, and the quiet journey toward wellness
.The Weight We Do Not See
We talk of health in counted steps,
Of leafy meals and mindful breaths,
But wellness lives in deeper wells,
In silent cries that no one tells.
It’s in the smile that hides the ache,
The laugh we force, the hands that shake.
It’s in the pause between replies,
The weary glow in hopeful eyes.
Wellness is not yoga mats,
Or apps that buzz when you eat fats.
It’s in the way you talk to pain,
Like it’s a storm, not just the rain.
It’s holding space for thoughts to land,
Not rushing them with clumsy hands.
It’s choosing sleep when screens demand
You scroll your soul into the sand.
It’s calling friends when shame says no,
It’s walking slow, then letting go.
It’s facing mirrors with a grin,
Even when the dark crawls in.
Wellness is the joke you cracked
When your whole world felt under attack.
It’s tea at night, it’s learning "stop",
It’s crying once — then letting drop.
It’s not perfection, clear and clean,
It’s messy love, not just routine.
It’s art, it’s noise, it’s silent prayer,
It’s healing when there’s no one there.
So if you breathe — then that’s enough,
If you're still here, you’re strong and tough.
For wellness isn't found in charts,
But how you tend your quiet parts.
