The Weight of Trust

Trust

By Abi Rose TravisPublished 6 months ago Updated 6 months ago 1 min read

I trusted you with every part

My whispered fears, my hopeful heart

The laughter shared, the hidden pain

The dreams I dared not name

You held my secrets, soft and close

Promised to care, to never boast

But trust is glass, so quick to break,

You let it fall for your own sake

You turned away when I was torn

Left me alone, betrayed, forlorn

No effort made to mend the seam

No comfort offered, no esteem

Now silence fills the space we knew

A friendship lost, a bitter truth

I gather pieces, heal the scar

You never cared to see how far

A broken trust can truly go

When someone loved you, heart and soul
