One of the most fascinating things about the entire human experience is that it can be boiled down to moments
Mere moments in time define us, not days, weeks, months, or years but actual seconds
That moment when your heart drops when you know something bad is going to happen
Those moments change us, sharpen our awareness, making us more keen on how to avoid similar situations in the future
Even though that sinking feeling can last for much longer than a moment it is usually the initial feeling that leaves the deepest scars that will sit and twinge for years to come
The moment when you feel your heart leap in your chest as you learn that someone you have a crush on likes you back
In these moments your mind is suddenly flooded with the possibilities, the could be's, you might even play out 100 scenarios in your mind in that second of time
The moment when inspiration hits you and suddenly the world is at your fingertips
An idea for an art piece, a breakthrough for an invention, finally finding the answer the the problem you've been working on for hours
This moment can set us off on a whirlwind of adrenaline and excitement
The moments we experience true anger, when we hear or see something that we *know* in our core is wrong and are suddenly overcome with the unyielding urge to stop whatever it is
All of these moments have significant weight when it comes to how we live our lives
All the emotions felt with them can, and certainly do, last for longer periods of time, but those initial feelings, the ones we get before our brain has time to muddle them with logic and past experience, those feelings in those moments are the ones that change us
