Does she grow weary, I wonder, with the constant task of repair. Is there ever a time she would rather leave the destruction for someone else to fix. If we listened, would we hear her cry out, in the quiet, cursing the sky for the existence she has been tasked with. Does she ever regret her circumstance? Or does she lovingly spin and weave these delicate masterpieces, gracefully content?

I sat on the patio this morning, soaking up the morning sun and watched her diligently sew the most beautiful patterns, that tomorrow, will need to be done again. And I thought for a moment, how similar our lives actually are.

We both give every part of ourselves, quietly working to find the beauty in being unseen.

I love how you added how similar our lives are. I feel bad when I destroy a web, however when it hits me full on in the face first thing in the morning my patience isn't what it should be. I will now pause before I spew forth profanities.

This reminds me of Athena cursing Arachne by turning into a spider to weave webs rather than on a loom. Beautiful and thoughtful peace. The spider web as a metaphor for the tangled skeins of our lives is very thought-provoking. Very well done, Kelli!

We all weave our webs one way or another. Your poems really make me think.

When I went hiking the other day, I marveled at the diligence of the spiders as they wove their webs across the path, from tree to tree, only to have folks like me blunder into and undo their arduous labor. However, I did my best to avoid those webs which a stray ray of sunshine revealed to me and I am certain that, were the spiders as aware, they would do the same courtesy to us. Well-wrought!

This is brilliant, and now feel sorry for her, and her.
