The War Within
She maps a path, then paints it gray,
erases lines she traced today.
A thought takes root—so full, so bright—
then doubt descends and snuffs its light.
She builds a dream, then tears it down,
uncertain hands, a furrowed frown.
"What if I’m wrong? What if I fail?"
Her fears weave tight, a binding veil.
She walks in circles, lost in thought,
each step a battle second-fought.
"Is this the way? Or should I stay?"
Her heart and mind won’t let her stray.
But certainty is not a door,
nor something written long before.
It is the step, unsure but true,
the moving forward through the blue.
Not every choice will clear the sky,
not every path will let her fly.
Yet standing still will never show,
the strength she gains, the way she'll grow.
So she inhales, lets go of "sure,"
embraces steps that feel unsure.
For in the act of walking through,
her path becomes, her truth shines through.
