I’m fighting a war I can’t win. It only begins and never ends.

Just me, myself and I. No family or friends.

Every time I resolve one issue, there’s the next pain.

One wound closed, but blood shoots out the next vain.

Determination aches as it beats through my chest.

Swimming through life without a vest and not getting a moment’s rest.

I look around wondering where is the win for me.

Maybe there is no victory. Perhaps this is just the end for me.

I’ve tried looking for the better in my situation.

A prisoner with no vindication. I’m at my final destination.

The only way out is to not figure out why I’m in.

Overwhelmed and exhausted from fighting the war I can’t win.
