The Waning Crescent
A Farewell to a Love Once Full

Before the moon dipped low, a beacon bright,
Our love cast shadows long and danced all night.
Your eyes, twin stars, ignited galaxies,
And laughter filled the air, carried on the breeze.
But tides have turned, the ocean's pull reversed,
The crescent moon, a sliver, love immersed
In shades of gray, where passion used to burn,
Aching embers fading, lessons yet to learn.
My heart, a fragile vessel, tossed and worn,
Can't weather storms this fierce, love battle-torn.
We built a castle on a shifting sand,
Footprints washed away, dreams held in my hand.
Forgive the tears that fall like whispered rain,
For endings, though they sting, can ease the pain.
I'll hold the memories, bittersweet and true,
But love, like seasons, changes, and so must we too.
May you find solace beneath a sunlit sky,
While I learn to love the moon, as it wanes and dies.
