The Void

Poem

By Gracie SmithPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Make sure my feet are covered;

make sure the only thing showing are my eyes.

Make sure it doesn’t hear me.

The darkness filled under my bed…

All the imaginary things in my head.

Every night…

Every night my insecurities fill my mind:

although there is a ‘monster’ under my bed, my insecurities are twined in the darkness.

Such absurdness

What if…

What if the monster under my bed isn’t a monster?

What if the void of darkness is actually…

is actually my insecurities?

sad poetry
