From The Ashes We Will Rise

This poem is about how far we have come since the start of covid.

”Ashes to ashes we all fall down”

We fell in a well

It was a living hell.

That piece of cloth over your face.

Was to protect you from this disgrace.

To potentially ‘save’ us from this pandemic and leave no trace.

Ashes to ashes dust to dust.

We have come so far just to create piles of commotion.

All the emotion.

But now…

Now we have rose

The wind has guided us up.

As our shadows die down.

No more frowns.

No more ghost towns.

We have rose

Our smiles have grown

The dimples showing

The clean air blowing.

More socializing

our smiles show us what we’re realizing…

From the ashes we started, but from the dust we arise.

We have become civilized

Finally..

Once again.

We’ve grown.

From ashes

To dust…

To soil…

To trees.

Now we resemble our power;

we’ve blossomed into a beautiful flower.

and we’ve completed the saying…

“from the ashes we will rise”.
