Amaree had always been a formidable competitor, and the two had a history of clashing in various local competitions. Amaree’s voice was powerful and commanding, a stark contrast to Eliza’s more melodic and nuanced style.

Amaree smirked as she saw Eliza. "Well, well, if it isn’t Eliza Hastings," she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "I didn’t expect to see you here. Ready to lose?" Eliza clenched her fists, forcing a smile.

"Oh we’ll see about that," she replied, trying to hide her unease. The presence of Amaree threw her off balance, but she refused to let it deter her.
