The Voice in the Rain

When no one listens, even the sky finds a way to speak back in rain.

It fell again — the sky in tears,

Like whispers brushing past my ears

Each drop a thought I tried to hide,

Now dancing down the window’s side

The world may sleep, but I remain,

Alone, alive, inside the rain

And though no soul may know my name,

The clouds, they speak — they sound the same

They echo every word I lost,

Each love I paid, each silent cost

The dreams I left beneath the floor,

They find their shape in thunder’s roar

I ask the storm to stay awhile,

To walk with me, to break this trial

For in the downpour’s cold embrace,

I finally see a softer face

A voice that isn’t made of man,

But understands what no one can

So when I cry and none appear,

I turn to rain — it’s always near

Never thought that rain could be a friend of sorts in some situations we are presented with in living.
