The villain in your story

One mistake and now im the bad guy.

By Mel WrightPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

Sitting down in the pouring rain,

your words spinning in my brain.

I know what I did was wrong,

but I didn't think it would be this long,

to see you happy, maybe a smile

but it feels like I'm always on trial.

The rain seeps into my skin,

you would have told me not to wear a coat so thin.

I stare at the slick mud on the ground,

my hands in my pockets, they are bound.

Memories seep into my sight,

of that dreadful night.

seeing your face, so angry and sad,

a sight that I knew was bad.

You left me there, without saying goodbye,

my eyes full of tears, they shed and cry.

I look up at the sky above in the hope of stars,

I still feel the loneliness behind those bars.

your voice echoing, the words you were yellin'

while I'm being treated like a felon.

I wish I could say I'm sorry,

but about me, you no longer worry.
