The Ultimate Gamble

🎲 I used to say I wasn’t much of a gambler.

Call me cheap, but I cherish the value of a dollar,

Hating to see money slip away, wasted…

Yet, without pause, I gamble my life away.

Overwhelmed, I let my time drift like sand.

Frozen in fear, standing still,

Knowing too well that time never stands still.

I am the living definition of an oxymoron.

I’d like to believe I’m better than this—

In fact, I know I am.

But oh, how easily the mind betrays,

When you surrender it the power to lead astray.

🎲 I used to say I wasn’t much of a gambler.

Yet I couldn’t see the worth of myself,

Blindly wagering the value of my own life,

Failing to grasp its priceless weight.

How ironic-

🎲 I call the shots. 🎲

And now, I reclaim my voice, my choice.

🎲 I used to say I wasn’t much of a gambler.

Today, I call myself a recovering one.

I’ve learned to treasure the value of my life;

A gift I refuse to see wasted.
