The Unwanted Hero

B7

By James GreenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

A soul did wander, lost in thought and pain,

Cursed with gifts that others could not gain.

Chosen not for glory, but for woe,

To bear a burden that none else could know.

A voice did call, a voice beyond the veil,

A summons to a mission both fierce and frail.

To stop a force that threatened all mankind,

And bring an end to horrors of the mind.

The soul did rise, with fear and doubt its friend,

And set out on a journey to its end.

But with each step, it saw its powers wane,

And felt the weight of fate's relentless chain.

And yet, it pressed on, though path was steep,

With faith in those it sought to save and keep.

For in the end, it found the source of strife,

And with its final breath, it ended the night.

The soul did pass, but left behind a light,

A beacon shining in the endless night.

And all who saw it felt a glimmering hope,

And knew that though the chosen one had gone,

Its legacy would help the world to cope.
