I know you're out there somewhere
Waiting for me—asking me in your prayer
Life isn't perfect nor was our Lost Tale
You knew it was me—even through my veil
.
Life felt better when we were together
We were heart birds—Entwined were our feathers
Our childhood, all those memories of fun
I never forgot a glance, not even ONE
.
Sharing our lunchboxes, securing the seat
That smile of yours—My heart skipping a beat
Your habit of rolling up your sleeves
You looked like a dream, I couldn't believe
.
It was all PERFECT, but it was just the start
We were getting along—Exchanging our hearts
I still remember how you looked that day
I was deeply in love and was about to SAY
.
Until you disappeared, without hearing what
That seat remained empty—Door remained SHUT
Where did you go? How could you SO!
We promised each other, together we would grow...
.
Years passed, Life was a great Stealer
Time passed so slow, for me— A Worst Healer
I grew, without you, You must have too
Seems like our promise lacked some strong Glue
.
I started wondering why did you leave?
When you left me, Were you too in grieve?
You moved out of the City and grew up there
You could've grown with me in here!
.
Now when I look back, you were a Kid
You were taken away, I thought you Hid
When life takes You, it returns something too
You returned as a Man, now? Out of blue
.
After all these years, I recognized your face
You looked the same, sleeves up like Ace
I saw you and my Heart started to Smile
You saw me too; Blinked from a mile
.
You kept me in Heart, beside all that wait
Our Story never died—You were my fate
Some love stories just can't be Told
Our Love was true, it demanded a Hold...
.
.

Amazing story, so heartfelt and relatable.
Such a beautiful and emotional story! Truly touching.
A truly beautiful love story. Well expressed
Lovely words Maryam. I especially liked: "Our childhood, all those memories of fun I never forgot a glance, not even ONE" and "Sharing our lunchboxes, securing the seat That smile of yours—My heart skipping a beat" Your poem reminded me of my first sweetheart. I used to hang around waiting for her to appear so we could kick the footy around or ride our bikes. I moved away, but years later, I briefly hooked up with her again. It was not meant to be, and we drifted apart again.
That rolled up sleeves reminded me of Hamza from the Laila story. When as I kept reading, it seemed like it definitely was about them both! Loved your poem so much!
Oh, so lovely <3
Wow! This feels like a true story, that’s exactly how it feels to me. A very heartfelt and beautiful poem. There is an entire story within it, but it’s sad, I think. It’s written brilliantly! Wow!
Very good work 👏
This poem is a beautiful testament to enduring love and fate! The imagery is captivating, and the narrative pulls you in. I especially loved the line, "We were heart birds—Entwined were our feathers." It is such a tender and evocative image! 🌞💐🌹🌷🌷🌼🌺
