The Unrelatable Christian

You Don’t Understand

By Earl W. PearlPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Take no offense my Christian friend

I mean no disrespect

You few who’ve had no fence to mend

You’re not what I’d expect

No booze nor weed has touched your lip

Your choices, always sound

You’ve never gone where people strip

You’ve never fooled around

You never cheated, you’ve been fair

And never gotten high

You’ve never even took a dare

Have seldom told a lie

No wicked thoughts or slanderous

word

Has plagued your Christian walk

No dirty jokes were ever heard

Nor cussing when you talk

It’s interesting some souls we meet

How blessed these Christian few

No vices, trials, no flaws to beat

I can’t relate to you

See, I’m a man with several flaws

Committed many sins

Done shameful things and broken laws

I’ve not had many wins

I need someone who’s overcome

And knows what I’ve been through

Who understands just where I’m from

Who’s been there, done that too

How Jesus got them through the test

Who shares what God has done

I need that one who’s been oppressed

Explains just how they won

Their attitude is gratitude

They somehow pierce my soul

Their inner peace and latitude

That’s now become my goal

So once again, don’t take this wrong

You’re blessed, I do agree

I am impressed you’ve been so strong

But that’s no help to me

I think you are talking about Saints , no one is that perfect and without a flaws, unless divine intervention took place 😊

An honest reflection. I’m right there with you, reasonably flawed and don’t care but at least I can admit it. Excellent flow and content to this one.
